The principal objective of the laboratory is to provide consistently accurate and diagnostically meaningful test information to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of Health Center patients.

The laboratory processes a wide variety of test requests. Some tests are performed in the Bailey Health Center laboratory. Others are sent out to a laboratory designated by the insurance information provided by you on the emergency notification form.

  • Quest
  • Lab Corporation

There are charges for all laboratory tests. We will provide insurance information to the laboratory, and they will bill you accordingly. A $10 charge for the venipuncture will be billed to the student’s account.

Obtaining a Laboratory Test

If lab work is ordered by a Bailey Health Center physician, it can be done immediately or at the convenience of the student.

If you have an order from a physician who is not a member of the Bailey Health Center staff, simply bring the request to the appointment. We will fax results to the ordering physician.

Some tests require restrictions or special preparation. The laboratory staff will discuss your test with you and let you know if any special preparations are involved. You may be required to schedule an appointment to have your test performed at a later date in order for you and/or the laboratory staff to prepare for the test.

Students are routinely notified when test results are available.
