Respiratory Virus Guidance
Lafayette College follows CDC recommendations for preventing the spread of respiratory viruses, including influenza and COVID-19.
- Individuals who are ill with a respiratory virus should consider staying home while sick.
- For five days after illness, added precautions are recommended, such as practicing good hand hygiene, wearing a mask, maintaining physical distance, and improving air quality when possible.
- Tests for COVID-19 are available at the health center for purchase.
- People who test positive or show symptoms no longer need to isolate or report cases to the Bailey Health Center
- Students who have a roommate who tests positive for influenza or COVID-19 may choose to stay with a friend temporarily. Please note that the College does not provide single rooms for students who are ill.
